Pianist, Dr. Frank Garvey, is an active performer in the fields of solo and collaborative music, instrumental and art-song accompaniment and musical theater. He has performed in his home country of Ireland, as well as Great Britain, France, Hungary and California. Frank has taught and coached in Ireland and in California, including in Los Angeles Valley College, the University of San Diego, Pierce College, Biola University and UCLA, where he received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance. He has premiered the works of contemporary composers in Ireland, Hungary and the United States, and has himself arranged and composed for both piano and vocal ensemble. Frank has also been a music director in churches in the US and Ireland. Dr. Garvey currently maintains a private teaching studio, is coach-accompanist at Pierce College in Woodland Hills and is on the teaching faculty of Los Angeles Community College District and Santa Monica College.
